About Me

My journey as an artist began early. Adult-level painting and drawing classes were my playground as a child in Iran. With encouragement from my family and an insatiable curiosity for the world, I’ve always been drawn to stories, traditions, and the threads that connect us all.

Today, my work reflects that same curiosity. I’ve traveled widely, from the streets of Colombia to the highlands of Ethiopia seeking out the shared experiences of people around the world. These travels have inspired my latest series of paintings, where I explore the roles of women’s work and their moments of repose. Seeking to understand what makes us unique, but more importantly, what makes us the same.

Themes in My Work

At the heart of my art are stories, their universal nature, and their ability to connect us to places and traditions we share. I paint the textures of culture and history, the unseen rhythms of daily life, and the moments passed from one generation to the next. Whether it’s the intricate facets of color and rhythmic patterns inspired by Persian esthetics or the quiet strength of a young mother in an Ethiopian market, my work seeks to honor and elevate these narratives.

Current Work

My most recent series explores the universality of womanhood, inspired by time spent observing and connecting with women across continents. Through color, gesture, and layered storytelling, I invite viewers to step into these shared moments and see reflections of themselves.

A Global Palette, Rooted in Heritage

While my work spans the globe, I carry my Persian roots with me in each piece of my art. The deep storytelling traditions of my culture—قصه‌گویی (ghesseh-goui)—weave their way into my paintings, reminding me that the stories we tell today echo those told centuries before.
